Research

The Anatomic Patholgy Unit of the DMM carries out research activities aimed at histological, immunohistochemical and molecular characterization and at the identification of prognostic-predictive biomarkers in the following areas of systematic pathology:

1) haemolymphopathology: haematological, lymphoid and myeloid neoplasms; dysimmune lymphoproliferative disorders (Castleman's disease);

2) gastrointestinal pathology: small intestine adenocarcinomas, gastric adenocarcinomas, neuroendocrine neoplasms, pancreatic neoplasms, hepatocarcinoma, colorectal carcinoma, celiac disease, chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, autoimmune gastritis, eosinophilic esophagitis;

3) mammary neoplasms: carcinoma in situ of the breast; invasive breast cancer (including rare histotypes); hereditary forms;

4) head & neck tumors: predictive biomarkers; HPV-related neoplasms.
